Dr. DiNardo graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Suma Cum Laude from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. He attended medical school at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California prior to pursuing his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. DiNardo joined the faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in 1991 and currently holds the rank of Professor.
His clinical and research interests include head and neck surgery and advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base techniques. He has received several clinical awards including ranking as one of the best doctors in Richmond for 2000 and 2002, as well as being counted amongst "America's Top Physicians" in 2003.
In 2004, he was voted "Top
Otolaryngologist" in the Richmond Magazine. He has been nominated for Clinician of the Year at Virginia Commonwealth University 6 times and has been elected to the faculty AOA society at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He currently serves as co-director of Head and Neck Oncology and co-chair of the Clinical Cancer Committee for Virginia Commonwealth University. He has authored or co-authored 41 papers and 9 book chapters.
Dr. DiNardo is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and as President-Elect serves on the council of the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He completed a 2-year term on the executive council of the Society of University Otolaryngologists/Head and Neck Surgeons. He is the past president and chairman of the board of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, and most recently was appointed as the governor of Virginia for the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
