Dr. DiNardo graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Suma Cum Laude from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. He attended medical school at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California prior to pursuing his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. DiNardo joined the faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in 1991 and currently holds the rank of Professor.
His clinical and research interests include head and neck surgery and advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base techniques. He has received several clinical awards including ranking as one of the best doctors in Richmond 2000 and 2002, as well as the “Top Otolaryngologist” in 2004 and the “Top Otolaryngic Surgeon” in 2006 and 2008 by Richmond Magazine. He has been counted amongst "America's Top Physicians" in 2003 and recognized by “Best Doctors in America” 2005-2006, 2006-2007, and 2007-2008. He has been nominated for Clinician of the Year at Virginia Commonwealth University 6 times and has been elected to the faculty AOA society at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He currently serves as on the Executive Committee for the Massey Cancer Center and has held 42 major committee positions. He has authored or co-authored 51papers, 13 book chapters, 7 instructional publications, and 62 abstracts.
Dr. DiNardo is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and past president of the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He completed a 2-year term on the executive council of the Society of University Otolaryngologists/Head and Neck Surgeons. He is the past president and past chairman of the board of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, and continues to serve as the governor of Virginia for the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
