About the Department

Founded in 1942, the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at VCU has a long history of providing clinical care, conducting research and training students and physicians in the evaluation and treatment of patients with diseases of the ear, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck.

With considerable growth in recent years, we’re proud to have fellowship-trained faculty in all aspects of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. We treat patients and train residents in the following subspecialty areas:

The field of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery is composed of a varied, diverse group of diseases and an equally diverse, varied group of treatments, surgeries and procedures. As our department continues to grow, we look forward to deepening our reach in patient care, research and education within each of our subspecialty areas.
