This on-line course will be taught primarily in Blackboard  [blackboard.vcu.edu]. Students are expected to show up in person in Hibbs 329 three times during the semester on Friday afternoon, between 2 and 4, beginning January 24[and for two in-class tests later], unless their special circumstances require other arrangements. The "window" for on-line discussions, the heart of the class, which begin the first week, will be Monday and Thursday evenings throughout the semester, between 7 and 9 PM.

After the first week, discussions will be available at least 24 hours before and after 8 P.M. on the date of the assignment. If you join early, you should come back to review additions to the discussion before it is archived.
