Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health System employees will launch
their combined 2005 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign in early October with
a focus on increasing participation among co-workers.
The CVC is the annual giving program that encourages state employees to
contribute to more than 1,100 humanitarian, environmental and health and
human service charities that have been approved to participate in the campaign.
The list includes five charities that are affiliated with the university and
the health system: the Loftis Memorial Bereavement Fund; the VCU-Carver
Partnership; Virginia Mentoring Partnership; the Hospital Hospitality House;
and the VCU Massey Cancer Center.

CVC is a charitable giving program which provides employees from all state agencies,
the opportunity to contribute to health and human services, environmental, and
prevention of cruelty to animal charities through payroll deduction.
It is a State campaign administered by the State Department of Human
Resource Management. The CVC works in partnership with the United Way to bring
services to the people of our region. VCU is a part of the United Way's Community
Campaign along with the Federal Campaign and other State Agencies.
