Classroom Video Taping

The CTE can work with individual faculty members to tape record classroom teaching sessions. These recordings can be used by faculty members for personal reflection and documentation of effective teaching practice. For additional information and related services please contact the CTE.

Equipment Loan

The CTE provides short-term loans of the following equipment to VCU faculty members:

• Digital Video and Still Cameras
• Laptop and Tablet PCs with specialized software for creating instructional content.

CTE Library Loan

The CTE has a growing collection of books and videos on a wide range of teaching and learning topics. Please feel free to stop by and browse.

Classroom observation

A CTE consultant can observe one or more class sessions, record the instructor's teaching practices and student actions, and then meet with the instructor to discuss the observations. Having little to no familiarity with the subject matter gives the CTE consultant the advantage of focusing on the classroom dynamics—between the instructor and the students, and between the students themselves.
