Handling difficult situations – an overview
Even the most prepared instructor cannot predict difficult situations. These situations can arise from natural calamities, like weather, or interaction between students or faculty and students. Although you may not be able to predict and handle natural calamities, you can prepare for difficult classroom situations by reflecting and outlining a plan of action.
This section will help guide you through the most commonly encountered difficult situations. The section serves only to begin to give you guidance. You may wish additional guidance during and after the difficult situation. University services for your students can be found in the Introduction section of this guide.
