Learning Technology Research Group

Overview

The Learning Technology Research Group (LTRG) at Virginia Commonwealth University consists of an interdisciplinary group of faculty members that identify and prioritize research around the use of digital technology to enhance teaching and learning. This group began its work in 2006 as a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) through sponsorship by the CTE. In 2008-2009, the group re-cast itself as the LTRG, while maintaining its strong links to the mission and goals of the Center. The LTRG continues to convene twice a month for sessions that maintain the connections to its faculty learning community origin. Members share their experiences with learning technology, and they explore the pedagogical significance of emerging technologies that have potential to impact learning. Central to the work of the LTRG is the identification of emerging topics and key questions in educational technology, and the design of research projects to examine those questions.

Mission

The Learning Technology Research Group (LTRG) brings together VCU faculty and a designated member of the Center for Teaching Excellence in a learning community to engage in research and scholarship in the context of cutting-edge digital technology specifically as it relates to the enhancement of teaching and learning in VCU.
