Background

Sarah recently joined CTE as the 2009-2010 Graduate Fellow. She is currently in her second year as a full-time VCU doctoral student in the Instructional Leadership program in the School of Education. Having just received her MAEd from Virginia Tech University in Instructional Technology, she also holds a MLS from Catholic University of America and a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Earlham College. As a librarian and instructional technology resource teacher, she has over ten years of experience working with faculty and students in evaluating and utilizing different types of educational technologies in order to support student learning. Specific interests include understanding how perceptions of technology within education have evolved, and what that means for educational technologists, the relationship between online learning and critical thinking, as well as the advent of mobile technologies within the classroom setting. She is an avid Opus the penguin cartoon fan and loves watching college football.
