"Visible Human Project: Insight Software Development Initiative" wrap-up meeting
Terry Yoo- ITK Project Officer, Visible Human Project
Monday September 22, 2003
9:00-5:30 pm
Lister Hill Auditorium, Building 38A on the NIH Campus

"Visible Human Project: Insight Software Development Initiative" wrap-up meeting

You are invited to attend the the wrap-up meeting for the current phase of the Visible Human Project: Insight Software Development Initiative. The focus of the meeting with be applications and algorithm development with ITK. The original developers of ITK will be present (so bring your questions) as will researchers sharing experiences from using ITK in their imaging explorations.

ITK has been integrated into systems such as the Mayo Clinic's Analyze suite and the University of Utah's SCIRun scientific visualization software system. Additional algorithms in vascular segmentation, liver tumor segmentation, 2D-to-3D intraoperative registration, and others will be covered. Representatives will also discuss the support of visualization systems and acquisition systems, including the accomodation of the DICOM and Analyze file formats.

The meeting represents a view of ITK and its acceptance and growth since the public launch of ITK 1.0 one year ago. The intention is to show how ITK is returning the investment made by NLM, NIDCR, NEI, NIMH, NINDS, NIDCD, and NCI, as well as NSF and TATRC(DoD).

The meeting will chart the future of public image processing research by showing what is possible today. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting is for an open-source/open-science project. No advance registation is necessary, nor are there any registration fees.
