Integrated Bioinformatics (Fall 2011)
Pre-modeling Questionnaire
(please press SUBMIT button when finished)

This coming class marks a change of face. Jeff Elhai, who up to now has marveled at the proceedings from afar,
will organize the current module, while Paul will be granted a well deserved vacation in the Bahamas
(unless he has too much work). This means that you are new all over again. You won't be
by the end of this module, but I'd like a head start, so please bear with this additional questionnaire.

I. Basic Information

A. Your name: Last name

B. Name as you are called

C. If you are doing research, please describe what you do in a few well chosen sentences

II. Experience with respect to metabolic modeling
A. Have you ever modeled anything computationally, even something pretty simple? If so what? How?

Please give your views on your general comfort level in the following areas:
B. Glycolytic
     pathway

C. Enzymology

D. Chemical reaction
     rate equations

E. Derivatives
     Differential equations

III. How the course works

A. How does a typical class proceed?
(e.g. how much time doing X?
    How much doing Y?)

B. What in the course has worked for you?
    What has not?

I will not lecture (that's why I wrote out the notes in the first place!).
But I will spend as much time as necessary to address whatever problems you may have.

C. Do you generally come to class with questions?
If so, how do prefer to express them?
    (e.g. verbally? In writing?)
If not, do you prefer to go directly into lab-mode?
    (i.e. working at your computer?)

I answer questions best if I have time to think about them.
Your timely responses to questionnaires enable me to do this.

D. Are you in the habit of responding to BNFO601 questionnaires?
Could you be convinced to form that habit?
Could you be persuaded to respond no later than 9AM the morning of class?
IV. Put here any comments, questions, suggestions, concerns about the course (or anything else) that don't fit elsewhere

Thanks!
