Integrated Bioinformatics (Fall 2011)
Questionnaire on notes: Modeling
(please press SUBMIT button when finished)

I. Basic Information

A. Your name
II. Modeling using differential equations (Yes, that's what it was)
A.  How comfortable are you with your handling of the international incident, i.e. do you understand how to get the trajectory of the missile from the instantaneous speed and angle?

B.  Do you understand how to calculate an incremental change in position from the derivative and the unit time?

C.  Did you run ADP-As.pl and Plot_funtion.pl? If so, how comfortable are you with your understanding of what the output of these two programs mean? Why were they as close as they were? Why were they not exactly the same?

Responses to questions in Section II:
III. Chemical reactions and enzymatically catalyzed reactions
A.  How comfortable are you with formulating rate equations (e.g. d[G6P]dt = -k[glc][ATP]) from chemical equations?

B.  Do you understand why rate equations of spontaneous chemical reactions differ from those of enzymatically catalyzed reactions?

C.  How comfortable are you with the significance of Vmax and Km?

D.  How comfortable are you with the three different types of inhibition that were presented?

Responses to questions in Section III:
IV. Article by Eisenthal and Cornish-Bowdin on modeling glycolysis
How comfortable are you with a first reading/skimming of the article by Eisenthal and Cornish-Bowdin?
V. Miscellaneous
A. Please choose up to four study questions from the notes that you would most like discussed in class:
SQ1  SQ2  SQ3  SQ4  SQ5  SQ6  SQ7  SQ8

B. Put here any miscellaneous comments, questions, suggestions, concerns you may have.
