CENTER FOR PUBLIC POLICY
THE CENTER FOR PUBLIC POLICY
at Virginia Commonwealth University conducts two omnibus public opinion surveys on a regular basis.

THE COMMONWEALTH POLL
is an omnibus public opinion survey of Virginia residents.

THE VCU METRO POLL
is an omnibus public opinion survey of residents in the 4-county Richmond Metropolitan area (Richmond City, Henrico County, Hanover County, and Chesterfield County).

Each survey covers a variety of topics.  For each topic, a series of questions are custom-designed to meet the client's needs.

The Commonwealth Poll and The VCU Metro Poll offer a fast and cost-effective way to gather objective information on the opinions, experiences, knowledge, and needs of the public.

The Commonwealth Poll and The VCU Metro Poll are conducted approximately four times each year, providing timely information to policy makers and business leaders.

Quality Surveys Start with Quality Staff
The professional staff at the Center for Public Policy follow the best practices for survey research to provide you with the highest quality public opinion data.

The Commonwealth Poll and The VCU Metro Poll are conducted by telephone using a list-assisted Random Digit-Dial sample of all residential telephones, including new and unlisted numbers.  This method provides survey data with a representative sample of approximately 800 adults in either Virginia or the Richmond Metropolitan area.

The Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory at VCU's Center for Public Policy has a staff of experienced in-house telephone interviewers capable of handling even the most complex interviews.  The computer-assisted telephone interviewing center is state-of-the-art.

Survey-Related Services available at extra charge:
Experimental Tests of Question Design and    Issue Framing
Trend Analysis of Public Opinion Over Time
Multivariate Statistical Analyses
Mail and Web-based Survey Data Collection

Costs:
The omnibus poll provides a cost-effective way to collect data on a limited number of questions.  The fee structure is based on the number of questions asked and the extent of the analysis involved.  The cost of a typical client module averages about $1,000 per question.
