Advanced Crash Investigation and Reconstruction
The TSTC of VCU will conduct advanced crash investigation and reconstruction courses in 2009. The one-week course will focus on motor vehicle crash reconstruction topics such as theory and derivation of reconstruction equations, flip and vault speed calculations, fall speed calculations, and time, distance and acceleration analysis. A major portion of the course will focus on impact speed calculations using conservation of linear momentum. Both vector and algebraic solutions will be addressed. Prerequisite for enrollment is successful completion of a basic two-week crash investigation course. The course fee is $40. The Department of Criminal Justice Services will award 36 hours of career development in-service credit upon completion of this course.
