Training and Technical Assistance

TSTC’s goal is public safety and faculty members provide training and technical assistance in their areas of expertise in highway safety to achieve that goal. TSTC’s training ranges from motor vehicle crash reconstruction and computer-assisted traffic records analysis to motor vehicle occupant protection and instructor development.

TSTC’s core, taught annually on a regional basis throughout the commonwealth, includes “Fundamentals of Crash Investigation and Reconstruction,” “Advanced Crash Investigation and Reconstruction” and “Traffic Records Analysis.” For added support, TSTC provides technical assistance to public safety agencies in these core areas.

TSTC also provides specialized training related to transportation safety countermeasure development and implementation. Courses such as “Occupant Protection Enforcement,” “Child Safety Seat Misuse,” “Transportation Safety Commission Workshops,” “Police Traffic Radar Instructor,” “Police Traffic Radar Operator,” “Computer-Assisted Scale Diagramming,” “Dynamics of a Crash,” “Commercial Drivers License Enforcement,” “Special Topics in Motor Vehicle Crash Reconstruction,” “Occupant Protection Train-the-Trainer” and “Proactive Traffic Enforcement” have been provided regionally.
