Financial assistance

A small number of merit-based fellowships are available to graduate students. These fellowships typically require full-time enrollment (at least nine credits per semester) and up to 20 hours per week of work as either a teaching assistant or research assistant. Some restrict other sources of employment. Indicate your interest in graduate student fellowships in your personal statement and note an intention to enroll full-time on your application form.

Some fellowship and scholarship opportunities are also available through the VCU Office of Financial Aid. Most of these require a student to be enrolled in at least nine credits per semester.
