These results come from a survey
of 618 drivers of large trucks conducted at three truck stops on Interstate 81
and Interstate 95 in Virginia. These truck stops were chosen in order to
interview large truck drivers engaged in intrastate hauling in Virginia, and
interstate hauling across Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.
The survey was conducted by the Center for Public Policy at Virginia
Commonwealth University on behalf of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles
and the Multi-State Motor Carrier Project.
