Web-based Surveys

CIE has one of the 30 licenses the university has purchased for the Inquisite enterprise Web survey software package. This software allows us to publish and conduct surveys on the Web. Administrative and program evaluations and surveys of students and faculty conducted for evaluation purposes are the primary focus of the Center’s work in this area.

For those interested in conducting an evaluation survey related to an administrator, service, program or office at VCU, CIE requires a list of questions, an introductory e-mail and an e-mail list of respondents. After the survey closes we will provide you with summary statistics, which usually include frequency distributions and comments provided by the respondent. Evaluation surveys can be either confidential or anonymous.

If you are a graduate student interested in conducting a survey, please contact your school to see if it has an Inquisite license and will create a survey for you. Individuals or offices wishing to conduct surveys not related to VCU’s programs or offices or for research purposes are encouraged to contact VCU’s Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory.

For more information on Web-based surveys, please contact Kelly Lockeman, research analyst, at (804) 827-1018 or kslockeman@vcu.edu.
