Common Data Sets

The common data set is a set of commonly requested figures and statistics used by various higher education surveys and institutional rankings. This set provides the following general information about VCU:

  • enrollment
  • admissions
  • persistence and graduation rate statistics
  • admissions and transfer policies
  • a profile of the latest freshman class
  • summaries of academic and student life offerings
  • information regarding typical student expenses
  • financial aid awarded
  • data regarding instructional faculty and class size
  • a summary of degrees conferred by VCU

Common data sets are prepared by many other colleges and universities and are frequently available on their institutional Web sites. These may be used with VCU’s common data sets for comparative purposes. Common data sets for past years are provided below and may be used for longitudinal comparisons.
