Quoted by Peggy Anne Salz in the article “High Performance, a Three-Prong Strategy Smooths the Path to Profitable M&As” in a June issue of The Wall Street Journal’s special section produced by Accenture. Accenture is a global management consulting, technology service and outsourcing company dedicated to helping clients improve their performance. Dr. Krug quoted from his February 2003 Harvard Business Review analysis of post-merger executive departure, in which he found that the loss of talent in the first year is often 25%--three times the rate of similar companies that have not gone through a merger. Dr. Krug is continuing research on this topic. He currently is a new faculty member at VCU School of Business.
