First Phase of Sanger Hall Lab Renovations Completed

Together with Dr. Marsha Torr, Vice President for Research, the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology received a $2 million dollar grant from the NIH to undertake the renovation of the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Department on the second floor of Sanger Hall.

Lab Renovations

The renovation project (begun late Fall 2003) will transform 12,000 square feet of outdated office and laboratory space on the second floor of Sanger Hall into a Cellular and Molecular Signaling Facility for collaborative research and training.

The newly designed laboratory space has an open, flexible layout designed to promote collaboration among investigators. The first phase of the renovation (north end of Sanger Hall) has been completed and the laboratories of Drs. Sato-Bigbee, van Antwerpen, Kordula, Fang, and Chalfant have moved in and are operational. The second phase is underway and expected to be completed in the Spring of 2005.
