Animation
Students will learn how various software packages are used to create stunning 3D graphics and special effects. Modeling, lighting, texturing, rigging, and animation techniques will be covered throughout the course. Students will learn how basic geometry can be used to create unimaginable imagery, watch and discuss short films/animations, as well as create character models, settings, props, and landscapes. All of these elements will be pulled together to create a Virtual Environment or an animation that can be used in student portfolios.
Instructor Bio
James G. Lemaster
James is a native of Richmond, Virginia and was initially introduced to methods used in creating 3D Images and Animations while in high school. Before graduation from high school he competed in several regional, state, and national level competitions, taking home awards at each level. Lemaster studied in the Kinetic Imaging (KI) Department in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). While in the KI department James furthered his studies in video, sound, and animation. Lemaster is an avid movie and anime watcher, and enjoys tinkering with small electronics.
