*Fashion Merchandising, Art History, and Film BA (Cinema) applicants are not required to submit a visual portfolio.

*Performing Arts applicants must contact the appropriate department to schedule an audition and/or interview. See below to learn more about audition dates and application procedures for the Departments of Dance and Choreography, Music, and Theatre.

*If you plan to fill out the VCU Fast-Action Application, please know that there are additional VCUarts requirements (please see above); an essay is required if you would like to be considered for University scholarships (see deadline below); VCUarts admissions cannot guarantee the Fast-Action 21-Day Admission Decision.

DEADLINES
November 1: All freshman and transfer students applying for regular admissions for Spring semester. Spring deadline is not applicable for Theatre Performance, Cinema (Film BA), Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, or Kinetic Imaging. These majors are fall admissions only.

Please note: Due to an overwhelming increase in applications, VCUarts has limited space for new Spring enrollees. If you apply for the Spring and are not accepted, you may reactivate your application, at no charge, for the following Fall. Please contact Undergraduate Admissions for the reactivation form.

January 5: Freshman applying for Fall semester who wish to be considered for university scholarships.

February 1: Freshman applying for regular admission for Fall semester.

February 1: Transfer students applying for admission to Dance, Music or Theatre for Fall semester.

April 1: Transfer students applying for admission to visual arts, Art History, Fashion Merchandising, or Cinema (Film BA) and change of majors applying for regular admissions for Fall semester.

Important Information:
We require all visual arts and technical Theatre applicants to submit their portfolio online at http:www.vcu.edu/arts/apply.

If we receive your completed application by the appropriate deadline, you will automatically be considered for admissions into VCUarts. However, completed applications received after the deadline may only be considered for admissions if there is room in the department or program.

Recommendation form (each department now requires one recommendation) is found at the bottom of http:www.vcu.edu/arts/apply and may be submitted online.
