General Stage Directions

General Stage Directions within Acts or Scenes stand alone in the manuscript. They're single spaced and usually deal with physical action or a combination of physical action and lighting or sound effects.


				JOAN

			He won't face her. Sound of a car door
			slamming, close. Joan looks up at the sound.)

				LARKIN
			(Quietly)
	Doing nothing is the brass ring in this business.

Standard spacing before and after General s.d.'s is 2 spaces. Check the differences in use and spacing for . . .
