• Robert Hobbs, Professor and Eminent Scholar in the Department of Art History is presenting a paper on Richard Pousette-Dart's painting, Ezra Pound's Vorticist criticism, and Aristotle's concept of form on Saturday morning, September 15, at the Guggenheim in New York.
• The Department of Theatre's "bedside manner" training at the VCU Medical Center continues to get press. This time, it's on forbes. com.
• Dan Currier, recent VCUarts MFA graduate and adjunct professor in the Department of Photography and Film, was recently on WUNC radio talking about his film "Labeled."
• VCU School of the Arts in Qatar welcomes its first class of male students.
• Bravita Threatt, a 2007 graduate of Dance and Choreography, is performing with Lula Washington Dance, based in Los Angeles. She will appear with the company at New York's Lincoln Center and has already begun filming for a feature-length animated movie in LA.
• Craft/Material Studies Professor Jack Wax has been awarded the Tenth annual Theresa Pollak Award for Outstanding Excellence in the Arts.
• Hyun Kyung Yoon (MFA 07) was selected for a solo show at Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts scheduled for Jan. 9- Feb. 22, 2009.
• Elizabeth Perkins (MFA 05) was selected from over 80 nominees as a Searchlight Artist for the American Craft Council show in Baltimore for 2008.
