• Dr. Pamela G. Taylor, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Art Education has been elected to the Council for Policy Studies in Art Education (CPSAE). Membership is competitive in this national group of elected art educators who meet to discuss and present policy related to a variety of issues within the field of art education.

• Dr. Min Cho, Assistant Professor in the Department of Art Education Department, has been recognized nationally as one of the "Faces of Service-Learning." The National Service-Learning Partnership is a national network of members dedicated to advancing service-learning as a core part of every young person's education.

• Kinetic Imaging Assistant Professor, Stephen Vitiello, was commissioned by United Technologies Corporation to present The Smallest of Wings (2005-2007) at the Broadgate Arena in London, England. This multi-channel sound installation juxtaposes the beating of moth wings, recorded in upstate New York, with the buzzing of humming birds, recorded in the Brazilian Amazon, to create a richly textured environmental experience.

• The Victoria and Albert Museum in London has recently purchased a drawing of ’97 MFA alumna Marie Sivak.

• 2005 Sculpture Grad Gives Commencement Address
Katherine Cirasuolo, '05 BFA, spoke earlier this month to graduating students at Pratt Institute at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. "Every person you encounter contributes to your prosperity as an artist," Cirasuolo (who attended PrattMWP before coming to VCU) told them. Her work in textiles has appeared in Artworld Digest Magazine and other venues.
