Young Artists Masterclass with Joel Krosnick

Gifted young artists, chosen by audition, will have the opportunity to perform and work with master cellist Joel Krosnick in a class open to the public.
How to apply
Due Date: Applications for live auditions and DVD applications must be received by January 10, 2012
Audition Date: Live auditions will be held on January 15, 2012 at the James W. Black Music Center. Applicants will be contacted after January 10, 2012 with individual audition times. It is not necessary to submit a DVD if you intend to audition in person.
Results: Applicants will be notified of their acceptance to the Masterclass on January 22, 2012.
A pianist will be provided for the Masterclass and there will be a short rehearsal preceding the class.
All items must be submitted together:
- Application form. Please remember to get a teacher signature.
- $25 application fee (check made payable to VCU Department of Music)
- A DVD of the piece you wish to perform for Mr. Krosnick.. Suggested repertoire includes a movement from a standard concerto, a movement or two from an unaccompanied Bach Suite, or a piece of similar scope from the cello literature. Please include piano accompaniment where necessary.
- All DVD’s should be of the highest possible artistic and audio quality.
- Label all discs and the spines of ALL cases with your name.
- Write the track listings on the jewel case cover and/or the disc itself.
