Poster Contest

In collaboration with the Communication Design Program, VCU Jazz Studies held a poster contest for students in the Print II (CARD 365) course. Antonio García, director of VCU Jazz Studies, provided data and images to Russ Hanchin, Print II professor, with the challenge of creating a poster for the Jazz Orchestra I’s concert.

The entries were juried by García and the posters designed by the winner and finalists were displayed in VCU’s W.E. Singleton Center leading up to the evening of the concert. A black-and-white version of the winner’s poster was produced for local distribution and publicity and all submissions were displayed throughout Richmond.

Each student-artist received some items of gratitude from VCU Jazz Studies, which was pleased to highlight the artistry of these creative individuals.
