Featuring Guest Artist Jonathan Keeble

Described as having an "infinitely flexible sound, with many subtle colors," Jonathan Keeble has established himself as one of the leading performer/pedagogues of his generation.

Jonathan's passion for new music led him to commission many new works for the flute from rising young composers. From these efforts come the recently released, critically acclaimed recordings. Voyage's collaboration has been described as "achingly beautiful" (American Record Guide) and "The performance is spellbinding'" and "Keeble's sound is infinitely flexible, with many subtle colors ..." (Flutist Quarterly). Song of the Black Swan's reviewers include mention of "Keeble's exquisite playing" (Fanfare Magazine), and "The playing is finished, and ... marvelous ... this is my new favorite recording" (American Record Guide).

Recent tours have taken Jonathan to Italy, Switzerland, in addition to Mexico City where he performed and taught at the National Conservatory, in addition to concerts and classes in Austria, Holland, Serbia, Sweden, Canada and the Far-East. A popular invitee as a featured guest at flute festivals, the last year has seen appearances as a featured guest at Seattle Flute Society, Northeast Ohio Flute Association, Texas Flute Society, and Dana Flute Festival events. He has collaborated in chamber settings with Yo Yo Ma, Renee Fleming, and regularly tours the country as a member of the Prairie Winds and flutist of the Aletheia Duo.

Jonathan is a regular performer, adjudicator, and presenter at National Flute Association conventions, and is Immediate Past President of the Association.

Jonathan's teaching experience includes his present position as the flute professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He spends summers performing and teaching at Aria International, Madeline Island Music Camp, and at the University of Illinois Pre College Flute Program.
