Advising
Upon entrance to the Department of Music, each student is assigned a faculty adviser, generally based on the student’s degree track or specialization. Adviser assignments are posted outside of the music office in Room 132 of the Singleton Center at the beginning of the fall semester.
Faculty advisers are available to students to aid in planning class schedules, give counsel regarding career issues, academic problems or personal matters, and refer students to appropriate university services that may be of help in handling other concerns. Students should see their adviser to obtain paperwork regarding registration, overloads, petitions to the Academic Status Committee and graduation applications.
Meeting with your adviser
Students are required to meet with their adviser before registering for classes each semester. It is the responsibility of the student to set up this appointment.
