Laura Candler White serves as adjunct faculty instructor of piano and keyboard skills at VCU. As a double major in church music (organ) and music education (piano/voice), her background includes 12 years of public school teaching in the Richmond area. Her choral groups toured annually giving performances in Washington's National Cathedral, Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at Catholic University, St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC, New England Conservatory, Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta and performances in the greater Chicago area. She and members of her high school choir were chosen to represent the US in the "American Music Abroad" organization. Ms. Candler White also traveled with the late Robert Shaw and his chorale, giving performances in the UK and seven continental European countries. Her choral experience with Shaw included performances and recordings in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Westminster Choir college and Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris.

As a chorister and accompanist, she has been affiliated with the Richmond Symphony Chorus, Richmond Renaissance Singers, CAFUR, Richmond Choral Society, James River Singers, One Voice Chorus, Petersburg Festival Chorus, Greater Richmond Children's Choir, Schola Cantorum (University of Richmond), Governors's School, Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale, and School of the Richmond Ballet

In the summer of 2011 her church choir was chosen along with six other choirs from the United States to participate in the International Festival Chorale di Rome with Z. Randall Stoope, conductor. Ms. Candler White was the accompanist for this event which included performances in the Vatican and the Basicila di Sopra Minerva Santa Maria in Rome. Future plans include an Ireland tour in the summer of 2012 with "Flutopia" - a flute choir which she founded.

She is presently the assistant organist at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond and organist at Salisbury Presbyterian Church..
