Friends of VCU Music

If you would like to make a gift by credit card to the Department of Music, please use our online giving form.

Friends of VCU Music was founded in 2000 to provide support for scholarships and educational programs in the Department of Music. Friends of VCU Music is a major source for undergraduate departmental scholarships and has presented more than 200 awards to deserving music students.

These scholarship winners are excellent students — among the very best at VCU — and most of them receive no other scholarship support. While it is difficult for any student to work and go to school at the same time, it is especially challenging for music students, who are required to be in ensembles and performances and who have hours each day devoted to practice, as well as study. Many of our students work one or more part-time jobs in order to afford their education, so it goes without saying that all of them are grateful for the costs and fees that these scholarships cover.

More than 200 households have contributed to Friends of VCU Music; additionally, 90 percent of full-time music faculty are members. Please consider joining at any of the levels detailed below. Your gift will mean so much to all of the students, faculty and staff at VCU Music.
