Auditions
Membership in all VCU orchestra ensembles is determined by auditions that are open to all qualified students. These auditions take place during the first week of class each semester and are heard by the conductors and the appropriate applied music faculty.
String players should fill out an audition form [PDF] and sign up for a time on the strings bulletin board in the Singleton Center, near room 132.
Winds, brass and percussion students wishing to audition for both the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the VCU Symphony Orchestra may do so with one audition. Students must fill out the audition form [PDF]. Please sign up for an audition during the times set aside for your instrument on the winds/brass/percussion bulletin board at the Singleton Center, near room 132.
