Vocal Chamber Ensemble
The Vocal Chamber Ensemble group followed in the footsteps of the VCU Madrigalists-- a group founded over 50 years ago by L. Wayne Batty. Chosen by audition, the size of the group may vary each semester, but does not exceed 12 members. Singers in this non-conducted ensemble study and perform a stylistic mix of a cappella repertoire, emphasizing early styles but extending to 20th & 21st century compositions. Annual performances include two major concerts on campus and up to a dozen special appearances in the region and in local schools, businesses and churches.
