Faculty Position:

One full-time tenure track nine-month position of Assistant Professor of Interior Design.

Salary and rank commensurate with education and experience.

Start Date:
August 15, 2008

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate or terminal degree in Interior Design / Architecture or related field (MA,

MS, MFA, M. Arch or equivalent). The preferred candidate will have at least one

degree in interior design or architecture; professional and or academic

experience required. NCIDQ preferred.

Responsibilities:

The candidate must:

• Demonstrate a commitment to teaching both studio and lecture classes at the undergraduate and graduate studio level.

• Demonstrate an emphasis in the following areas: AutoCad, computer graphics, and lighting.

• Integrate appropriate interior design practice aspects into the classroom.

• Integrate technological design approaches in the studio.

• Advise undergraduate and graduate students and participate in department, school, and university committees. Candidate will be responsible for overseeingthe computer lab and working with technology support .

• Produce appropriate scholarly and creative research and/or practice for advancement to tenure.

• Take active involvement in professional organizations such as ASID, IIDA, EDRA, ACSA, or IDEC.
