Interior Design Faculty - Digital Imaging Specialist
Position # 1740

The Department of Interior Design, the first and only CIDA accredited program outside the USA and Canada, is recruiting for a digital imaging specialist that will contribute to a culture of learning. The successful candidate will work in a team oriented small-school environment with practicing, experienced and dedicated educators. Teaching duties include effective course development and teaching at the undergraduate level: digital visual imaging, interior design studio, construction documents and building systems. All faculty contribute to a culture of learning through participation in curriculum development, support for accreditation standards, pursuit of professional creative research, participation in faculty governance, service and student advising. Opportunities for regional and international collaboration abound.

The typical teaching load is 15 semester credits per year with opportunities to teach summer courses.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a terminal degree in interior design or a related field or equivalent experience with an expertise in the use and teaching of 3-d visualization, modeling, rendering, and presentation techniques with Autodesk, Viz, 3-d Max, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Successful candidates will have a willingness to stay current in digital applications for interior design. Proficiency in hand sketching, perspective drawing and presentation techniques, design theory and applications, building systems and construction documents are desired. A documented record of accomplishment in teaching, research and/or professional practice is required.
