Department of Dance and Choreography will hold advising days for the 2009-10 academic year on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 and Monday, March 29, 2010. Sign-up for academic advising with your adviser on the Dance Center bulletin board.

Production Information

The Dance Policy and Production Handbook and Calendar provide detailed departmental production, policy and crew information as well as equipment, costume and rehearsal details in addition to information on festivals and adjudication. The accompanying calendar outlines production meetings, crew trainings, crew calls and other department production responsibilities.

The Dance Production Handbook and Calendar are available online by signing into Blackboard/Dance Workshop as well as in PDF format below. All announcements related to changes or updates to the Handbook and Calendar are available on Blackboard.

Festival Information

American College Dance Festival, Mid-Atlantic Region: March 17-20, 2010, hosted by VCU Dance.

Black College Dance Exchange: TBA

Festival Guidelines

  1. Choreographers and dancers representing VCU at festivals must be currently enrolled at VCU.

  2. All dancers and choreographers representing VCU must have at least a 2.0 GPA.

  3. Choreographers may submit no more than one work to be considered for ACDF or BCDE.

  4. The maximum time for works going to ACDF/BCDE is 12 minutes.

  5. Seniors graduating in the Fall of 2009 can be considered as performers or choreographers but if selected must be responsible for the logistics of arranging rehearsals.

  6. Members attending festivals as representatives of VCU must commit to appropriate behavior and to representing VCU in a positive manner.
