Areas of Study: Art Education
Art Education combines art and teaching into a single profession. Each student will train to be an artist, learn to design instructional strategies, and earn a highly regarded BFA (vs. the more typical BA).
Graduates may teach art in elementary, middle or high schools in 48 states or pursue further education in various art-based fields.
How to Apply to the Department of Art Education, BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts)
To be considered for entry in the Art Education major as a sophomore, all applicants must complete the freshman year Art Foundation Program. Submit a visual portfolio, recommendation form, and completed VCU application.
