Admission to the Graduate Programs of the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology requires a bachelor's degree, the curriculum of which included courses in biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. The applicant must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or MCAT and submit three letters of reference.The Subject Test in biology is not required. Applicants are also required to submit a biographical statement describing their background and reasons for their interest in pursuing graduate studies in anatomy. Foreign applicants are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

The deadline for applications to the M.S. and Ph.D. Programs is May 1 to be considered for admission in the following fall semester. There is no deadline for applying to the Post-baccalaureate Premedical Certificate Program.

Financial Support

Financial support is available for well-qualified predoctoral students through School of Medicine graduate fellowships, which include tuition and a stipend at a level consistent with federal guidelines. Master's degree and Certificate students are not eligible for support.

Tuition and Fees
Certificate Degree (Two Semesters)
  • Resident: $8,322
  • Non-Resident: $17,562.00

Masters Degree

  • Resident: $10,809 (includes summer tuition)
  • Non-Resident: $23,117 (includes summer tuition)

Doctoral Degree

  • All predoctoral students are supported with graduate fellowships or faculty research grants that cover tuition and provide an annual stipend of $21,000.
